Examination
Informed consent was obtained from the patient after discuss-
ing risks and benefits of the procedure. The patient was connected
to the pulse oximeter and placed in the lateral position. Oxygen
was provided through a nasal cannula and the premedication ad-
ministered as stated. The endoscope was introduced into the oe-
sophagus. At the end of the examination the patient was trans-
ferred to the recovery area to recuperate.
